“Life is short
and we have never too much time
for gladdening the hearts
of
those who are travelling
the dark journey with us.
Oh be swift to love,
make haste to be kind.
-Henri Frederic Amiel
Life's journey brings each of us
through dim, low valleys as well as to bright heights.
People in the lows are most likely hurting. They may be scowling and complaining or avoiding human contact. But, as we all know, but
sometimes forget, those who appear unlovable are the ones with the greatest need for love and kindness.
"Be kind whenever possible," said the Dalai Lama. And, "It's always
possible."
To day, let's aim to be kind and loving toward all.
If...when...we find ourselves in a low
valley, let's begin by being kind to ourselves and go from there. Even if it seems we have little to give, let's be as kind as possible, remembering what the Dalai Lama said because...
"What the world needs now is love, sweet love."
Let's carry that tune. Whether or not we sing it,
let's hold it in our hearts.
For healing, harmony, and peace,
Charlene
