"Kindle a fire of kindness and care
that will mellow
the hardest of hearts in despair."
- from Walk in the Shoes
The Benedictine Foundation, Vt.
Today's poetic words are actually lyrics from a song, a love song written and recorded by the Monks of the Weston Priory in Vermont.
The song urges us to keep kindness and caring glowing in our hearts.
For, even the coldest and hardest of hearts can be warmed, softened, and mellowed by being in the company of steadfast love, kindness and caring.
But along with maintaining loving feelings in our hearts, let's put those feelings into action by being kind and helpful in ways that are sincere and authentic for us.
In plain talk, let's choose to love continuously and unconditionally, without judgments and expectations. Let's begin by recognizing the dignity in every person we
encounter.
Toward peace,
