"May you give love, receive love,
and feel love in your heart for all living
beings."
- Danny Dunworth
When I received the blessing Danny sent to me, my mind went straight to the "all living beings" part of her guiding words.
In a flash, my mind sped beyond the cats in my home to the
birds, rabbits, and squirrels in my garden, to the coyotes that appear that some people fear, to animals I hope to someday see on a safari, and through a general embrace of all animals and plants. But then my mind arrived at Australia's Great Barrier Reef, a living natural wonder of the world, and paused.
The wonderment of The Great Barrier Reef led me to consider how all
life is an awesome wonder.
We may
never feel emotional love for snakes, spiders, and other creatures that give us creepy feelings. But we can choose to love them in a way that respects and honors their existence.
Let's especially choose to respect and honor the existence of all human beings.
We struggle sometimes to accept human beings who seem "other" than us, people who appear different in color, culture, creed, or any of the ways we judge people
and sometime see some as less valuable than others.
God help us, I say. And I pray.
May all fear and hate fall away.
And may our hearts open to
"give love, receive love, and feel love in our hearts for all living beings."
Truly. Amen.
With hope,
Charlene
THE ELEVENTH GIFT IS LOVE.
It will grow each time you give it away.
THE NINTH GIFT IS REVERENCE.
May you appreciate
the wonder that you are
and the miracle of all creation.
