"When you wake in the morning
and your day seems daunting, go for a walk.
Feel the breeze touching your body,
and may it energize your spirit.
Feel the sun on your skin,
and may it warm your heart.
Feel each step you take,
may they bring you strength for the day.
May you then smile throughout the day
and take in the day’s joy, kindness and
love
in all the small, surprising
and wondrous ways that show up.”
- Vivian Gentz
Again I say "Yes" to heartfelt words from a guide-mother friend. Although we have not yet met in person, I've been in touch with Vivian for almost 25
years.
Vivian, a therapist, is one of the first people I heard from when the first edition of The Twelve Gifts of Birth was published.
Thank you, Vivian. I appreciate your blessing for daunting days.
As I picture myself walking, as you suggest, I can almost feel warm sunlight on my face and a gentle breeze wafting through my hair. I'm also feeling soothed and strengthened with each step I take on my imagined
walk.
Let's consider acting upon Vivian's guidance in reality, whether or not this day seems daunting.
And whether or not we are able to walk today, let's embrace the closing part of this blessing:
"May you smile throughout the day
and take in the day’s joy, kindness and
love
in all the small, surprising
and wondrous ways that show up.”
Wishing strength, joy, kindness, and love to all.
Always,
Charlene
Use your gifts well and you will discover others,
among them a gift that is uniquely you.
