"I have always tried to live by the 'awe principle.'
That is: Can I find awe, wonder and enchantment
in the most mundane things
conceivable?"
- Craig Hatkoff
I too try to live by the awe principle. But unlike choosing to be
kind, we can't simply choose to be in a state of enchantment, can we?
But we can be open for awe to come upon us, as it did for me when I took this photo of the bee approaching the
sunflower.
I was already grateful for the way a patch of giant sunflowers grew naturally as a result of birds dropping seeds as they ate at our feeders.
I sat on the ground to get a closeup photo, and as I was about to push the camera button, that little bee flew by my face to land and collect
pollen.
To experience more such moments of wonderment, let's be ready by slowing down and being thankful for little things.
I chuckled when I read the end of today's quote because when we see wonder in so called "mundane things, they become awesome and beautiful things, even
sacred and spell-binding things.
Today, especially if Wednesday is generally a slump day for you, take time - make time - to immerse yourself in the natural world, even if it's a short time. Watch and listen. Let gratitude and magical moments happen for you.
With love and joy,
Charlene
