"When a new day begins,
dare to smile gratefully.
When there seems to be no hope,
dare to find some.
When you feel great,
dare to help someone else feel great
too.
When the day has ended,
dare to feel you’ve done your best."
- Steve Maraboli
How do you feel about the word "dare"? The word triggers a resistance in me because I feel pushed. I respond better to supportive encouragement.
So, why did I choose this quote?
First, I believe Steve Maraboli's intent is to urge us to aim, whole-heatedly, to courageously and joyfully be our best at all times. Not for us to feel pushed.
And when I replace "dare"
with an alternative - such as endeavor to, have the guts to, urge yourself to - I'm ready to say Yes to his dares.
Like Steve Maraboli, I encourage you to do your best
and be your best this week.
Remember that our best varies from day to day.
So if ever think that you've missed the mark
and feel poorly about yourself,
embrace yourself with compassion.
May your week be filled with courage, compassion, gratitude, and joy!
Love too,
Charlene
