“When we talk about being true to ourselves
- being the persons we are intended to be -
we are talking about our gifts.
We cannot be ourselves
unless we are true to our gifts.”
-Elizabeth O’Connor
How important is "being true to yourself" to you?
Most people think of being true to ourselves as being authentic and honest, which is a powerful way to live.
I believe being true to ourselves also means honoring the needs of our bodies and listening to the guidance of our souls.
And I appreciate how Elizabeth O'Connor expands this further to include using all of our gifts and talents, which can be exponentially more powerful for
us and for the world by how we live, work, and play in it.
If you feel some excitement about this, if you feel a nudge toward it, please be true to yourself with a commitment to nurture and use your gifts of
strength, beauty, courage, compassion, hope, joy, talent, imagination, reverence, wisdom, love, and faith.
Let's live all in!
With courage,
Charlene
