"Dare to love yourself as if you were a rainbow,
with gold at both ends."
- Aberjhani
At times, loving ourselves this way can seem as realistic as finding the fabled pot of gold at the
end of a rainbow. Too often too many of us feel unworthy of such love and about as valuable as fool’s gold.
In a way, we resemble the fairy-tale character, Cinderella. Here’s why:
Like Cinderella, we are noble; we have dignity; we deserve to be loved and treated with respect. Deep within we know this. But false beliefs and circumstances can hide the truth and create the illusion that we are unimportant, maybe even
ugly.
A fairy godmother transformed circumstances and helped to reveal the truth about Cinderella.
We can do that too. In the way we treat one another, we can be–not fairy godmothers waving magic wands–but reverent mirrors that reflect dignity, worth and beauty to one another.
We can do this for ourselves, too, with smiles and positive self-talk when we look into actual mirrors.
Consider posting Aberjhani’s quote on a mirror and other places where you will see it and be reminded to “Dare to love yourself as if you were a rainbow, with gold at both ends.”
As further reinforcement for your transformative work, post this quote from Meister Eckhart too: "Every human person is noble and of royal blood."
Amen,
Charlene
