"It is an absolute human certainty that no one can know his own beauty or
perceive a sense of his own worth until it has been reflected back to him in the mirror of another loving, caring human being."
-John Joseph Powell
Imagine how humanity would be affected if every one of us acted like a magic mirror to each person we encountered.
We may not find a cure for cancer, hunger, or homelessness. We may not resolve environmental issues. We may not be awarded a Nobel Prize. But every one of us can make a difference in the world by making a difference in the life of one person.
We all need to know - and be reminded - that we are valuable human beings, especially children who were told otherwise.
Even in brief encounters we have opportunities to have other people feel seen, respected, and valued.
We may never know the impact our warmth, courtesy, and respect will
have over time. But we don't need to know. Treating our fellow human beings with love is its own reward - and may very well bring blessings back to us.
So, why not make it a habit to look for beauty and goodness in everyone, see dignity in their essence, and reflect dignity back to them in our eyes, our smile, our words, our caring and respect?
Let's, with love and joy,
Charlene
