"Laughter is an instant vacation."
- Milton Berle
Laughter is a free vacation that can be taken anytime,
anywhere.
And although it's not counted among The Twelve Gifts, laughter is a gift. I think it's nestled between imagination and joy. According to Francis
Bacon, "Imagination was given to man to compensate him for what he is not; a sense of humor to console him for what he is."
Laughter promotes health and happiness. It can build and strengthen relationships too.
"Laughter is the shortest distance between two people," said Victor Borge. I remember times in my 53-year marriage, especially in the early years, when
some upset between my husband and me was remedied lightly and lovingly when we made each other laugh.
Laughter is a blessing too. So, let's find "the funny,"
especially in ourselves, and embrace it today.
With gratitude and joy,
Charlene
