"Three-fourths of the miseries and misunderstandings in the world will disappear if we step into the shoes of our
adversaries and understand their viewpoint."
~
Gandhi
Let's aim to better listen and understand one another today.
One key to this is realizing and remembering that every one of us has our own unique experience of living and one-of-a kind perceptions, feelings, and beliefs about everything.
It's almost as if we each have our own little world.
When I consider this fact, sometimes I'm amazed we get along as well as we do!
Today, along with imagining stepping into the shoes of an adversary, let's imagine looking through the eyes, feeling with the heart, and responding
from the life experience of a family member, a friend, or a neighbor.
Toward the goal of building better understanding among us and peace within us, let's share our true feelings with courage, kindness, and willingness to be vulnerable.
For peace and
joy.
With reverence,
