“When you look back over your life and see how much you’ve had to face, and how you’ve dealt with it, it’s interesting to try and pinpoint the first time you faced something that might tear you apart. The first time you had to reach inside yourself and pull out
strength you didn’t know you had, strength that hadn’t even been needed until then.” - Loretta Lynn
We've all summoned strength to meet challenges, large and small, from the time we were born.
It certainly is interesting though, as Loretta Lynn said - and empowering - to recall a time you tapped into strength you didn't know you had.
Memories of using strength can serve as touchstones for us, reminders that we always have access to a deep wellspring of
strength.
Touchstone memories can be like power tools in our own personal well-being toolbox.
The strength stories of others can be helpful tools for us too.
Look for Mazi's story on my website. It's an example of someone not recognizing her
strength until a challenge forced her to use strength she didn't know she had. The event changed the way she saw herself and the way she lived her life.
With best wishes for you,
