“Nothing can cure the soul but the senses, just as nothing can cure the senses but the soul."
- Oscar
Wilde
The soul and our senses are closely connected. When we appreciate the beauty of life through our senses, we can be calmed and comforted, uplifted and inspired, encouraged and healed.
Have you noticed how you feel uplifted by certain scents? Might one be bread baking in the winter? The scent of the earth thawing in the spring? Fresh cut grass? Lilacs?
How about the the sound of toddlers laughing? Ocean waves breaking on
the shore? Your favorite song from childhood?
The sight of light rays breaking through the clouds on a gray day? The stars on a clear moonless night?
A hot shower on a cold morning? Clean sheets? A back massage? Walking barefoot on fine firm sand?
Hugs?
The taste of warm chocolate chip cookies? Sweet juicy watermelon on a hot day?
As you imagine sensing these things and actually sense things present in your environment today,
watch for changes in your awareness, outlook, and mood. Let beauty and joy progress you.
Toward greater strength, health, and well-being,
Charlene
