“Do what makes you strong." - Jack Cavalcant, MD
"Do what makes you strong, Charlene."
That's what my oncologist said before I started chemotherapy treatments. "This is a time that calls for strength. Do what makes you strong," he repeated.
By "Do what makes you strong," he meant to do what reduced my fear, what gave me confidence, what increased my faith... what made me strong in every way.
Dealing with cancer - or any serious life challenge - is indeed a time to consciously choose thoughts and activities that empower us.
Somehow - it may sound strange - but facing a serious threat - facing it and finding deeper faith, hope, love, and strength in all its forms - can make it the best of times in the worst of
times.
Let's learn more about "doing what makes us strong" for the extraordinary times in our lives and for all our ordinary days. Actually, are there any ordinary days? I don't know. I do know that they are all precious.
With faith, hope, and love,
Charlene
THE FIRST GIFT IS STRENGTH.
May you remember to call upon it whenever you need it.
