"Try to make at least one person happy every day. If you cannot do
a kind deed, speak a kind word. If you cannot speak a kind word, think a kind thought. Count up, if you can, the treasure of happiness that you would dispense in a week, in a year, in a lifetime!"
- Lawrence G. Lovasik
This seems to me like a great Lenton practice. A New Year resolution too. But why wait until Ash Wednesday or next January? Why wait another day to spread happiness,
kindness and smiles?
Consider this Lawrence G. Lovasik quote too:
"Nobody needs a smile so much as the one who has none to give. So get used to smiling heart-warming smiles, and you will spread sunshine in a sometimes dreary world."
We know this. The people who appear unfriendly and not very lovable are the ones who need the most love.
So let's be generous with our smiles. Our kindness too.
They cost nothing, they are good for our health, and they make a difference in the the world.
So let's smile at everyone today. If our smile is not returned, let's not take it personally or be discouraged. We don't know what that person is
experiencing.
Let's just continue on with smiling.
With love and compassion,
Charlene
