"They say that every snowflake is different.
If that were true, how could the world go on? How could we ever get up off our knees? How could we ever recover from the wonder of it? - Jeanette Winterson
Isn't it amazing? Every snowflake, every leaf, every blade of grass, every human being - everything in creation - is one of a kind.
We haven't yet glimpsed or grasped the beauty, power, and wonder of this. If we did, we would likely be so stuck with awe, we would fall on
our knees.
Trappist monk Thomas Merton said
something similar after experiencing an epiphany and seeing everything differently:
In Louisville, at the corner of Fourth and Walnut, in the center of the shopping
district, I was suddenly overwhelmed with the realization that I loved all those people, that they were mine and I theirs, that we could not be alien to one another even though we were total strangers … There is no way of telling people that they are all walking around shining like the sun.
Although we have not yet perceived such magnificence, why not treat one another with the utmost respect and kindness? Why not have reverence for all creation?
Let's be open to seeing something in a deeper, more appreciative way today.
With awe, love, and joy,
Charlene

May you appreciate the wonder that you are and the miracle of all creation.
