"You can never cross the ocean unless you have the courage to lose sight of the
shore."
- Christopher Columbus
We always have the courage. May we remember to call upon it whenever we
face an unknown.
This photo is one I took while crossing the Atlantic two weeks ago. Five days were beyond the sight of any land.
In the middle of the ocean, one realizes how small we are compared to the expanse and depth of the seas. More than
once I thought of the early explorers who didn't know when they would reach another shore. What courage they had!
For some of us, along with the experience being beautiful and exciting, crossing an ocean takes courage, even when we know that land is ahead.
Of course there are many other situations - new, unknown, and challenging - that call for courage. We've already faced some in the past and most likely will in the future.
But be not afraid. Instead of feeding fear, let's remember and celebrate times we were
brave.
And for times we again may need courage, let's be assured that we've got it. It's built into our very nature. We have the courage and the strength to face anything and everything.
Now let's put that assurance aside.
Right now, for today, let's look for clear skies, calm seas, smooth sailing, rich discoveries, and joyful living.
With faith, hope, and love,
Charlene
THE THIRD GIFT IS COURAGE.
May you speak and act with confidence and use courage to follow your own path.
